Costs | Contact | Hardware

Internet connections such as ISDN require the use of specialized hardware. You will need an ISDN modem that ranges in cost. Approx. $80-$500 depending on hardware features. HarborNet can handle 64k-128k single and dual channel ISDN. Also, we will configure your computer or your device in our shop as a part of the start-up fee.

ISDN can run at either 64kbps or 128kbps. Basically, ISDN is a digital phone line that can move data at 64kbps. Running 2 lines (or 2 channels) gives the user 128kbps. Dual-Channel ISDN requires 2 digital lines from the phone company. This costs $35-$70 per/mo. per/line depending if it is a residence or a business. HarborNet charges $50-$250 per/mo. for the ISDN Internet service. See our costs page for more info. As you can see, ISDN is an expensive option. However, it is a very proven and dependable option for Internet Service when dedicated access is a must.
