- Appointment Times
All on-site cable modem installations are scheduled with a 2 hour window. This means that a HarborNet technician will arrive within the scheduled window less any unforseen circumstances. The window normally includes 1 hour for travel. Payment for the hardware/setup is due upon arival of the HarborNet technician.
- CPU Configuration
The on-site installation includes the setup and configuration of 1 CPU only. The HarborNet technician will not install or configure any type of network (this includes HUB's, Switches, Routers, etc.). For installation of additional computers, a special appointment is required and will be billed at $65 per/hr. with a 1 hour minimum after the 1st CPU is setup. HarborNet does not run residential ethernet networking cable. Contact your electrician or telcowiring expert.
- Broken Systems
HarborNet will not repair broken computers as a part of the on-site installation of a cable modem. However, HarborNet will repair your broken computer in-shop at $45 per/hr for the 1st hour and $65 per/hr after that. This means that you will be without your computer for at least 7 working days. On-Site repair is billed at $65.00 per/hr.
Cable Modem Terms of Cancellation/Holds
- Payment on account / account Holds
Invoices for payment are sent via e-mail the month prior to the due date.
After that there are some important dates:
- 1st of month - account payment due.
- 10th of month - if account unpaid - an email reminder is sent
- 15th of month - if unpaid - account is placed on hold.
- 15-20th of month - if balance is paid during this time there is only a $20.00 re-connect fee.
Final notice is mailed when the filter is placed on the line.
15 days after final notice the account is sent to collections.
Cable Modem Terms of Billing
- Billing
Your account begins and is billed from the date that Click! installs the physical wire
that carries data. This is true whether or not HarborNet has been out to install your cable
modem. We at HarborNet do everything we can to make all your appointments as close together
as possible.

Cable Modem Terms of Use for the Emergency Dial-upConnection
- Availability
The emergency dial-up account only comes with all cable modem accounts.
- Use
The emergency dial-up account is to be used only when there is a problem with the cable Internet
connection. The emergency dial-up account is not to be used from any other location other than where the
cable modem internet service was originally installed. In the event that cable Internet service experiences
technical difficulties, the dial-up account is available for use by our customers. If the emergency dial-up
account is used for any other purpose, HarborNet will bill accordingly.
- Options
If the customer needs a dial-up account to be used in conjunction with the cable Internet service,
HarborNet charges an additional $10 per/mo. for the home user and $20 per/mo. for the business user.
Also, if the customer wishes to use I-Pass as a dial-up connection, they may do so at any time regardless of
any technical difficulties with the cable Internet service. Please note that I-Pass charges per/hr.
Cable Modem Terms of Modem Returns
- Returns
For new cable modems purchased from Peninsula Computers / HarborNet that need to be returned to the
manufacturer, HarborNet supports the following: *Please note that this only applies to modems used
with HarborNet Internet service.
1. If the modem fails within 60 days of the purchase date, HarborNet will replace the modem
with a new modem of equal value.
2. If the modem fails within 1 year of the purchase date, HarborNet will cover the RMA of the modem
to the manufacturer as per the manufacturer's warranty attached to the cable modem. HarborNet will provide
a "loaner modem" for the customer's convenience. This will cost $10 per/mo. and will not exceed $20 total
while the customers modem is out for repair. (Subject to availability)
3. If the modem fails after 1 year of the purchase date, HarborNet will charge $15 to RMA the modem.
